General Guide

General guide to the buyers guide section

Hiring a vehicle is usually a short-term measure, but simple guidelines should be still be followed:

  • Check out the allowed mileage, quite a few hire companies impose a limit on the mileage you can drive.
  • Make sure you hire the vehicle for a long enough period, allow for extra journey times, in case of breakdown or traffic problems.
  • Ask about the insurance cover that you are being covered for, so you are aware of what is covered and what is not.
  • Check out the opening times of the vehicle hire company, so you can return the vehicle back on time.
  • Fuel – never travel far in your hire vehicle before filling up, as not all hire vehicles have full petrol/diesel tanks, some are close to being empty!
  • Check your hire agreement to see if you have to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel.
